Wisdom of the Idiots: part 13, Bread and Circuses, Sleeping Beauty and Abattoirs
Bread and Circuses. They're making a comeback in an awfully big way – and for exactly the same reasons they always appear. But you know what they say – if it aint broke don't fix it!
Bread and circuses have long been used to distract people from the political realities of life around them and to protect the ruling class of royals, or politicians or whoever happens to be the current tyrant government. It works very well. It's a bit like the magician whose feats of legerdemain delight and entertain – they direct our eye to one thing while their hands do another and we are suddenly confronted with a seemingly impossible thing.
All over Britain, in order to conceal the ongoing and very advanced destruction of the nation and the reduction of its people, the modern versions of bread and circuses are unleashed and piled one upon the other and we are encouraged to feed our passions, our bellies and our minds with nonsenses which have no real value or use while the politicians get on with the job of dismantling the country, preparing the people for the abattoir and, like the magician who gains real wealth in return for unreal tricks, gather up the real wealth of the nation.
Most of humanity is asleep. They are sleeping awake. They are in a consensus trance of their own making and manipulation is made easy. Unlike sleeping beauty, however, they are not pleased to be awakened from this sleep but defend their unconscious condition and attack those who would help them. Humanity is asleep, and the sleeper must awaken.
Musashi.
